World Test Championship Possibility to have a sixth reserve day in the final
A
30-hour playing time was required on the ICC website for the World Test
Championship Final. A sixth reserve day will be set aside to compensate for the
time lost for some reason. This detail was later removed. Different questions
are being raised as to which team will be declared the winner of the
championship if the match is not fruitful.
According to sources, the playing conditions of the decisive match will be considered in the ICC meeting to be held from 1st June,2021.
There is a strong possibility that a reserve day will be set aside for this match between India and New Zealand starting on June 18. For the first time in history, the final draw of the championship will not give a good impression to the two teams as joint champions. Therefore, every effort will be made to make the match decisive, 450 overs will be completed despite various issues including weather interference or slow over rate.
Sources say that despite these measures, plans for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship are likely to be revised, with Craig Barclay saying in November after taking over as ICC chairman that the event Did not achieve the goals that were expected.
